How to write a cv when you have never had a job?

Can you help me help my son. He is 16 and wants to apply for a saturday job. They are asking for a CV. Apart from Name, Address, Phone, Email, DOB and school that he is attending what else can he put down - if anything.

Has he done a Duke of Edinburgh award? Captain of the football team/debating society? Started French Club at school? Regular participant in drama productions? Any volunteer work?

Really, anything that shows any sort of leadership, responsibility, dependability.

'Personal Statement' section including things like:

the sports he plays and the teamwork/ leadership he has learned from that
musical/ drama involvement and how that has developed confidence/ customer facing skills
time management- balancing study and other activities he's committed to

He'll need all this stuff for UCAS if he's going to University, or other job applications if not, so it's a good exercise.

The exams he’s taking and the predicted results as well as what the other posters above have said

Yeah I'd just go with a statement, they will understand he's never had a job

I am currently in my GCSE year and I am looking to work over the summer season and hopefully carry that on when I return to school in September.
At school we have to choose to do service or CCF and I chose to visit with those in the care home. I really enjoyed speaking to the residents and hearing about their lives.
I am also a member of the debating team, I run the Warcraft Club. I am also part of the Hockey, Cricket and Squash teams.
At home I support the Poppy Appeal in October/November with fundraising and I help make the tea & coffee and the manual labour to set it up for other events throughout the year. I give up 10 days of my summer holiday helping to run the Scout & Guide jamboree. In the past I have been part of the catering team, cooking for 1000 adults. Led meetings to advise leaders on the days events. Assisted in the admin department answering questions from participants regarding lost and found items and timing and location of activities.

How does this sound, can anyone give any further advice please?

It's great that he has some very constructive things to put on there.

What I would do is relate each experience to skills that have been developed that are relevant to the job.

So...

In the last year I have been visiting residents at a care home as a volunteer. I have communicated effectively with a wide range of people in this role and really enjoy making each resident I speak to feel valued and listened to. This skill will enable me to make your customers feel welcome and at ease as they shop.

Loads of really positive things there. If you (he!) retain 'CCF', spell out what it is. But there's no need to mention that it's a school thing at all, just focus on the volunteering aspect as the poster above has suggested.
