I’m wondering something about Unions.
If you need to get advice off a union, but your union rep was 1) completely useless, and 2) incapable of being discreet; how would you go about getting advice/support? Does the Union have some sort of hotline you can call to get help or would they direct you to the local rep?
It’s really putting me off paying £20/month to a union that I perceive to be utterly useless, but if I knew I didnt have to deal with a local rep that might help a bit if I knew they were a bit more helpful.
(Note: I do not work in a heavily unionised industry or one where there are professional standards to worry about; just a general office worker really wondering if it’s worth joining one to get advice!)
