Any one who has any experience of job rebanding under afc?

If your job is successfully rebanded to a higher grade how do you move across?

Is it like a promotion and you move over and up and get a slight increase or do you take your pay point across with you?

Eg if you are top or band 6 and your job has been regraded to band 7 do you become band 7?

We are currently trying to get our band 5 roles rebanded to band 6 as specialist nurses. My understanding is if it happens we enter band 6 at bottom point and work our way up as if we have interviewed and been given a band 6 role

It depends how it comes to be rebanded. If it’s as part of OCP youd have to apply for the higher grades post. If it’s due to grade drift, and you and your manager are applying to have what you’re actually doing rebanded, the regrading (either way) is automatically yours.

It is a national rebanding of the role.

Should automatically apply to those holding it then.

Since it is not a promotion and it is the job which has been rebanded.

I would think you should take the pay band with you ie top 6 will become top 7.

Union should advise.
