Any tips on raising a grievance with your employer? Did you find it hard to work for your employer afterwards?

I think it depends on what your grievance is about really. Obviously the closer it is to you (e.g. your manager, your colleague) the more difficult it potentially will be in the long term.

I am having to consider a grievance against the organisation I work for as they have failed to address reasonable adjustments. It isn’t something to be taken lightly.

I think you have to consider what you want from it. I supported two colleagues through the grievance process a few years ago, both against the same manager. He was a vicious bully who took deliberate steps to sabotage their careers. It was really tough on them both - luckily both grievances were found in their favour and they were both transferred to other jobs and received some restitution for lost wages. Neither of them has suffered any ongoing consequences from the organisation as a whole.

You need to be clear about what you’re unhappy about, and what you want done about it. And also to show that you have done everything that could be reasonable expected to resolve it already, and the grievance is not the first port of call.
