Should I let my heart or head rule

I've been offered a new job. The commute is shorter and cheaper. Pay is slightly better and it will be a good career move however I have serious nagging doubt and I can't put my finger on it. I don't know if it's because I'm just dreading the return (I'm due to finish maternity in a few weeks) or if it's something more ominous. Should I return to my comfy slippers job or put on the hgh heels for a new career. Please mystic megs, help!!!

It is natural to fear change.

Thing is... your old job has probably changed too. As long as the new job is not too demanding I think it is a good time to change.

You need to be really honest with yourself- what is it that worries you? You DO know- just listen to your inner voice!
Would it help to evaluate what is most important to you in a job? Money, status, convenience, career prosepcts, travel, etc etc.
Don't base your decision on how you'll feel in 6 months- look ahead to a year or 5 years and ask what you want to see yourself doing.

ahh thanks for your responses. I don't feel too concerned about going back to my old job but it is boring and I'd be looking for a new challenge soon anyway. This job has almost been handed to me on a plate which is why I'm probably not more enthusiastic. I haven't had to fight for it. It'd be a great career move and would lead to other stuff and in the direction I'd like to go. I think part of me feels I need to morn my old (current) job and leaving the people.
Thanks for your comments

Look at the facts - any only the facts. There must be something that is causing this doubt.

Thanks Kimmy. I think it's the prospect of actually going back to work although obviously so many changes all at the same time are unsettling.
