Maternity and Bank Shifts anyone??

Hi wondering if any one may be able to advise, I’m on maternity leave ATM due back in July. I’m a nurse practitioner and currently work 26hrs per week, I want and need more hours but there aren’t any extra available where I am.
My manager has sent me a link for bank nurses in my local trust within my speciality, I could top up my hours nicely by doing some bank work but as I’m in maternity leave I’m not sure I’d be allowed whilst on leave, I can’t see anything in the parental policy, it only discusses KIT days, I’ll apply anyway and clearly state I’m on Matt leave until July so they can decide if I get shortlisted or not, but does anyone know if you can do back whilst on leave? Thanks

I recently answered a similar query from a union rep but can’t remember what the AFC terms say. I think you can work bank whilst on unpaid maternity leave but not at the same trust.

I think I checked this when I was on maternity leave. Essentially you could only work it once the paid maternity leave part was done, so really only between 9 - 12 months into your leave.

Thanks so much for that info, I’m just six months in at the mo but have taken a year Matt leave with pay spread over that year, the bank would be a different trust as well, I really just want to top up to full time with a couple of shifts once I’m back after work, but the speciality I’m in bank jobs in it are like hens teeth, Sod’s law it’s come out now!! Thanks for replying its really appreciated
