Dream job slipping away

I started my dream job 2 months ago - I found out last week that I'm pregnant. I got pregnant the week I started. Me and my partner have decided to keep our baby, however I am really freaking out about telling my employer. They hired me to do a specific large piece of work which is supposed to take until next year to complete...alone. And now I have to tell them I'll be going on maternity leave before I can finish it. It's a male dominated industry and I've fought really hard to get as far as I have. The company doesn't even have a maternity policy...I'll be the first ever to take it.
Any advice on when/how I should tell them? Should I have my maternity plan figured out beforehand? Should I expect to not come back to the same job I had before post-maternity? I live in the UK

Thanks
