Redundancy and maternity

I got put at risk last week and am on the last bit of my maternity leave. My team is being cut in half.

I know that while on maternity leave you have the right to be offered a suitable role (if available) what I don’t know is if I am entitled to this. I am due back on 4th feb, but does the date I was put at risk (16th jan) count.

In a nutshell, do I still count as on maternity leave for the assessment, and therefore am I entitled to one of the remaining roles? Or, as the final decision will be once I return, am I counted in the same pool as everyone else.

Hoping someone with some knowledge can help as I’m really stressed!!!

You have to be on maternity leave at the point your role is redundant in order to be entitled to be offered a suitable alternative vacancy.
