6 week job and left - lose it from CV?

I worked in a job for 9 years, left because I found another job, which on paper was a better job.

However, I hated the new job, the boss, the co-workers and the commute and I handed my notice in at around 6 weeks. I am now doing some part time freelance work whilst also studying but will be looking to return to work in the next few months.

Should I just lose the 6 week job from my CV? I am worried that if references are taken up with the previous employer (of 9 years) that they will say I left to take up the other job.

What's the best way forward?

I am in a similar boat - I just resigned from a job of three weeks. No way is it going on my CV, I'm just erasing it from history!

I doubt your former employer will mention it on a reference most references these days are just dates worked from/to, job title and reason for leaving.
