I am currently looking into taking extended maternity leave as I am not ready to leave my little girl. Can someone please tell what support I am entitled to should I do so as I know my maternity will end and suspect my working tax credit will too. I am only on working and child tax credits with my maternity pay. Also, what help I will receive to fund childcare should I go back either full time or part time? I have tried calculators but it's difficult to work out when it's 3 months away (I'm 6 months into my maternity), the job centre will not advise me as I'm not claiming a new benefit and Bexley council just leave me on hold for hours. Can you please advise on what support you got when on extended maternity, or what help you had with childcare working full time or part time? Thank you

Do you mean the 3 months when statutory maternity pay stops or actually extending mat leave beyond a year?
