Hi

Would anyone might be able to advice? I was working for an employer for 18 months on a fixed term contract that expired on 30 November 2018. My due date is 26/03/19. I have now got a 12 week temp job through an agency and started the following week on 3/12/18. When I fill the gov eligibility questionare I get really confused. If I don't enter the new job I seem to qualify for the maternity allowance, but if I enter the new 12 week employment details I don't seem to qualify. This really makes me feel rather worried and confused. Could it be that I might not qualigy for it because I started a new job..? Thank you.

When they send you the form they ask about all your paid income for so many months so you should still qualify. I don't think it matters if it's more than one job. I left my job in December last year, got a new job in march and started maternity receiving maternity allowance on the 2nd of august. If you're not sure ring the helpline. Good luck x

Also when I had my daughter 3 years ago I hadn't been working for 6 months due to issues during pregnancy and I was still entitled to maternity allowance x
