Question/advice rather than an issue (about training)

So I have a great boss who said he will support me to complete a training programme this year. However I need to choose between either a technical training option- learning more about the tools and methods I need to use in my job, or a leadership programme that has very good reviews and includes introductions to contacts across the city (big focus on networking across sectors).
I am having a dilemma as not sure which would be better in the longer term. I can do a lot of self study on tools and methods and I have been struggling with confidence and networking issues. However as I am in a new industry not sure what would be the most ‘strategic’ way to go.
Any thoughts?

It sounds like the leadership one meets your training needs more.

Presuming you can learn on the job (and would do if you weren't being given the option of doing the technical course), I'd choose the leadership one anyway.
