a closing paragraph could read "thnak youfor taking the time to read my leter of application and i hope to hear from you shortly". perhaps

fransmom · 24/06/2007 20:32

perhaps put in spell check before you read my last post!

nell12 · 24/06/2007 20:34

It wouldn't hurt to include a paragraph or two about why you think you are best suited for the position, why you are interested in the position etc etc etc

If you Google 'covering letter' you should find some good samples.

I have spoken to other teachers and they have said my calmness, patience and ability to talk on all levels (its a special needs school so one minute i could be talking to a 13 yr old who talks and understand like a toddler to someone who signs and is very bright. ) but not sure what that is called.

Yes I would put a brief paragraph about key skills/experience, something along the lines of -

The vacancy for xxxx is of great interest to me and I therefore enclose my application for the position.

As a xxx for xxx I spent xx years doing xxx /involved in blah blah blah etc

I am confident that my skills, experience and qualifications meet your criteria and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my application in more detail.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I am also working there now and they seem to be pleased with the work i have done and how settled i am. I seem to be well liked and welcomed by the school and the pupils.

Thisis it so far.

The vacancy for the post of Teaching Assistant is of great interest to me and I therefore enclose my application for the position.

My experience of working with children from 3 months to 5 Years has given me an inside into child development. My recent experience with (agency ) whilst at () has broadened my experience and knowledge of working with older children.

During my times as a childminder I completed several training courses including Special Education needs within the early years.

I would value this opportunity to further my knowledge and experience within the area of special education needs as this is something I find very rewarding and interesting.

some grammar and spelling pedantry...hth

My experience of working with children from 3 months to 5 Years has given me an inside into child development.
Years -> years
inside -> insight

During my times as a childminder I completed several training courses including Special Education needs within the early years.
times -> time (if you had several separate periods, I personally would change it to "During my time working")

I would value this opportunity to further my knowledge and experience within the area of special education needs as this is something I find very rewarding and interesting.
insert comma, after needs
capital letters for Special Educational Needs?
Should Education be Educational, or is Education correct?
