blimey! They often do scenario based questions, such as "what would you do if....." - its good if you can use an example of performance in your answer, so you could say "I would do ... X Y and Z" then follow it with "In February, I had a similar situation when blah blah blah, and I did blah blah blah, resulting in...."

Wear something you feel good in!

Speak slowly and clearly - remember, they may be writing things down so you need to give them enough time to record all your brilliant responses.

Explain your answers thoroughly - don't assume they will know what you mean

Good luck!

and I heard the other day on the radio that if you sit on your chair and lean forward a little it shows that you are keen and interested....and the interviewee will notice this ....good luck

They don't want much do they?

Presentations are a doddle. Tell em what you're gonna tell em, Tell em, Tell em what you told em!
IE Introduce, talk, summarise.

Slow and level toned, don't fidget, you can move around a little eg walk to the other side of your board, but don't jiggle or pace. Don't wave your arms around but DO point to the board to illustrate your points. Maintain eye contact and if you need a minute to collect your thoughts, ask them if there are any questions so far, then you can give them a few seconds to think of any when in fact, you are giving yourself a few seconds to collect your thoughts!

Let me know how you get on vict, I would have a hissy fit if my employers did this to me!!!

Old but great interview tip thread here

first day back! that's bang out of order if you ask me. My interview tip is listen to the qs and take a second or two to think about your answer before launching into it. And don't be afraid to ask them to repeat the q if you want. On one level all that sounds very obvious but if you're anything like me - when nervous - it's very easy to launch into something and waffle on without really saying very much and without answering the q.

how did you get on vict?

vict17 · 02/09/2004 20:35

Hi Lisa - I'm so flattered you remembered! It went well but I'm up against a lot of people and wont find out til the end of the month. But I was happy that I did as well as I could. Went and had too much wine afterwards in post-interview euphoria tho and suffered for it today lol
