Christmas party

A bit of a weird one really, am working through my notice period while resident in another country. The team is going to do their Christmas event the day before my last day at work and have not invited me as I am not in the country until two days later. However, no one has actually specified whether I am expected to work the same while everyone is off partying. And if I was, how would this be considered fair?

To make matters worse, I only found out by chance...

In my office it used to be the rule that you were very welcome to come to the party. If you chose not to then you stayed at work.

Oh that's a tricky one, I assume if you had been in same country on the do date you would have been invited?

Yes, I would have been invited had I been in the country during that time - as this was mentioned then.

I should mention that the event starts in the morning, more or less from 10am onwards.

Probably the thought hasn't occurred to anyone. Just ask your manager. Say that as you can't attend the Christmas event, can you have a day off instead.
