Whole team going to interview.

I work in a small team of 5 people and new job vacancies for very similar roles to the ones we do but paying a lot more money have been advertised in a nearby county. I have to go into work tomorrow and try too negotiate the interview day off along with 3 others who have gone for the new roles. I don't think the employers will negotiate a different interview day and the service we do cannot shut for a day. The interview date is only a few days away so very short notice. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this?

And just to add - I'm pretty certain that one of these people being interviewed will be my current boss.

There's no point trying to disguise the fact you're going for the interview. Sounds like the new role has attracted quite a lot of attention.

Have you checked how the others have managed to get the time off?

If you know the interview date and time your options are: requesting half a day off as AL or

making up the hours you need for the interview at a different time either before or after.
