Statutory notice pay - any help appreciated

Hi all

My husband was made redundant in October with no notice. His employer, for whom he'd worked for 17 years, is (technically) insolvent so all claims for redundancy / statutory notice period have to be made via the insolvency service.

We were told that in January, he could put a claim in for payment of his wages during the statutory notice period. Does anyone know if this is affected by any new job he gets in during the statutory notice period?

He's been offered some temporary work over Christmas and it's a lot less than his previous wage, so he doesn't want to take it if it will stop him claiming his notice pay. We're on holiday at the moment ( which was booked last year) so can't call the Insolvency Service for advice.

Thanks in advance!

Normally 1 week for every year you’ve been there upto 3 months as notice of redundancy. Then statutory redundancy is dependant on your age but around 1 to 2 weeks per year
