We've lost all our income, need to move house

Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post but my husband has just lost his main contract, meaning we don't have enough money to pay our mortgage. We need to move I think and hopefully we can rent our flat to make some extra income, but we'll need to move to a cheaper place - both size wise and location (currently in streatham, south london). Can anyone recommend somewhere south of london with rail links to victoria and or kingston, where we might be able to rent a 2 bed garden flat for around £1000? Many thanks

Look on Rightmove at Bromley with a radius of 3 miles, it has good train links to Victoria. Renting out your place will incur costs, would it be worth speaking to your mortgage company first to see if they can help.

Bexley borough is fairly cheap and well connected into Central London.

If you look within 10 miles of Guildford on Rightmove, it brings up over 250 2 bed properties up to 1k, including little houses in Guildford itself. Just think about travel costs. If either or both commute you will soon find you are paying as much as Streatham because of the fares.
