I am married(oh works long hours) and have 3 children aged 16, 14 & 5. My middle child has special needs and so she goes to a special school. Bus picks her up at 0745 & drops her home at 1630.

At the moment I work 9 hours per week over a Saturday & Sunday & now have the opportunity to work Monday-Friday 9-3. The mid week hours are perfect as can get school runs done for my youngest child & have evenings home plus pay is good but I love my weekend job & the people there so am reluctant to leave that one even though money not amazing but staff discount is worth quite a bit to me.

So do you think working 39h over 7 days is too much to do alongside being there for the children, running the house etc? Interested to hear if anyone does similar & hoe they find it. X

I think many mothers work that number of hours. My hesitation is that they are spread over seven days though, I do think at least one and ideally two free days a week are important.

Yes that's my concern too. I think I'm going to quit the weekend job & work Monday-Friday. Thank you for replying :)

The hours are fine with children but I would never recommend continuously working 7 days. I think you are right to quit the weekend job.
