I've just realised how long it is since I had a job interview. Arghhhhh!!

Remind me how to prepare? How DO I remember the answers to questions when I am not currently working?

e.g. 'tell us about a time when you........'

Goodness, it's amazing how differently I feel about my abilities as a 33 year old mother who hasn't worked for 3 years as opposed to a young free and single 26 year old, still in 'set-the-world-on-fire' mode

You have lots of skills now, like patience, diligence and empathy that you probably didn't have pre-kids!

Listen to their questions carefully, nod and smile and answer them truthfully and positively. Dress smartly and be on time. Quite honestly, if you look the part and you feign confidence you are 99% there already!

Knowing all the answers isn't a pre-requisite for being employed. I used to hire people who didn't know all the answers because at least I knew they were willing to learn and honest, better than some know it all arrogant weasel!

Good luck!

It's not quite the same getting ready for the interview after young children have been pawing at you all day
