Nurses who have left the profession, what have you gone on to do...

Looking for some ideas really.
I’m a MH nurse with many years experience, mainly in the community. No longer in nursing, my LO will be starting nursery next year and I am looking to return to work. I have considered a career change but I’m not too sure what I actually want to do. I have also looked in doing a degree with OU but again not sure which degree.

Any ideas or suggestions, thanks.

How about work in a day care centre for those with mental health or learning disabilities?

I’m sorry, that’s really unhelpful, although also true!

I feel your background is MH then safeguarding could be an option? Drugs & alcohol recovery?

I’ve spent a few years in 2 Day Centres, which I really enjoyed.

Safeguarding- a few of my colleagues work in this area, but I don’t think i want to do this right now.

I’m suppose I’m looking for a change of career. I am considering doing a degree with OU (another thread).
I was just interested in seeing what other nurses went onto after nursing really.
I know the usual routes are; counselling or psychotherapy, Occupational therapy training, Social Work training, or a different branch of nursing even.

I have a strong creative interest, and maybe thinking about exploring this.

Well thanks for all your suggestions.
