I’ve applied for a job via an agency. After talking to the agency I’ve found the company it is with, it’s my dream job, I really want to work for this company.

Is it bad form to contact them directly and see if the agency have passed on my CV?

I’m not trying to bypass the agency, I’d like to make contact and let them know I’m very interested in being interviewed or would that be too pushy.

I’ve only had 2 interviews and two jobs in 20 odd years so I’m out of my comfort zone!

I dont think it's right to bypass the agency at this stage. However after a day or two feel free to contact the agency to see if there is any news about an interview. You will look keen.

I'd chase up the agency straight away.

You don't need to worry about them thinking you're pushy, they have a vested interest in getting you through the door for an interview.

Find out what timescales the company needs to recruit. Ask which week they think the interviews will be scheduled for.

Follow up with the agency not the company itself. They have hired an agency to help them fill the position, one of their tasks being to deal with candidates communication, they don’t want emails asking ‘did you get my CV’.

Just express you keen interest to the agency to work for that company.

Thank you, I’ll wait and follow up with the agency with fingers crossed.

Good luck with it.

I’m still waiting, followed up with a couple of calls and 1 email to the agency.

I don’t want to be pushy but the company may not know I exist, it took the agency quite a while to find my CV when I called. Would it be rude to contact the company directly at this point?

I have another vacancy that I’ve passed the first stage with for another role but I really would love the chance to interviewfor this one.
