Hi, there is a restructure going on, and the collective 45 day consultation period has ended, and we have been given the final structure. Myself and another person at the same grade have been given 'at risk' letters, with role removed on the final consultation document. We have the same job descriptions but have specialised on different tasks/areas of work within the same team. The team is being split up, with each of the main functions going to two other teams. We will be invited to apply for our jobs, two vacancies at the same grade with two different descriptions, basically gaining the information for these from what we currently do.
We will be appealing (internal appeals process to the Director and HR), as this seems unfair. Can they make us go through recruitment and selection, or have we got grounds to take this further? A lot of staff are being left unaffected in our directorate, mainly because a huge restructure was carried out last year. This one is to save money, mainly by cutting the number of middle managers, but they won't save anything on the two of us if they re-employ us.
TIA
