Has anyone lost someone close to illness then gone on to work in a caring profession?

My dd age 3 died nearly 5 years ago after contracting pneumonia and sepsis. I am now a care worker helping elderly people stay in their homes hopefully till the end of their lives. I absolutely love my job and have had the pleasure to look after some utterly fascinating people, some are still here, others not, but i know that i help make a difference to that persons life.

Thanks for replying. I am very sorry about the loss of your dd. That must be incredibly hard. It is lovely that you are helping elderly people now. I am drawn to that too.
