hi , work is finishing middle august, and my boss is going to give me redundancy pay.
i am 4 months pregnant though, and thought i would be getting maternity pay, which i think will amount to more.
Would i get maternity allowance from goverment after redundancy pay, or do i stick out for my Stat mat pay with employer
thanks for any info

You need to talk to someone properly qualified, but I think they have to take maternity leave into account, but not sure if you have to have told them you're pg before they tell you you're going to be made redundant...

How many weeks would you be by mid August - might be borderline as to whether you have reached Maternity Leave by then (isn't it max 11 weeks before edd?)

I would be 25+1/2 weeks by then.mid august

can't remember exactly, but think you need to be 15 weeks before your EWC at the date of your termination and then you still get your maternity pay even if you are dismissed. You can't take maternity leave until 11 weeks before EWC, so you don't start getting money for a few weeks though.

Not sure if you have to be actually employed when you would begin ML to qualify for SMP or if being employed at the Qualifying Week (15 weeks before edd) is sufficient see here . If they deny you SMP it seems they have to give you the reason in writing. Think you may need to take advice from CAB or similar tbh.

to get SMP you still need to be employed at the start of hte 15th week before your expected week of confinement (EWC)

Your EWC starts on the Sunday before your due date (or that day if your due date is a Sunday) - count back 15 weeks from here, if you are still in work at the start of that week then they have to pay you SMP (as well as redundancy pay)

If you don't qualify for SMP you will be entitled to maternity allowance if you have worked for at least 26 weeks (not necessarily for the same employer) in the 66 weeks before your EWC and earned at least £30/week in at least 13 of those 26 weeks.

Hope that helps
