So, going back into work after 5 years and after my second interview I got offered a nursery practitioner position for 40 hours a week. Due to start on Monday 29th. Today, i got a phone call to say my start date will be delayed because I need further meetings due to my children having a social worker.
The social worker is only involved to help me organise contact with their dad, which I didn’t think would be a problem at all and now I am panicking like mad!
Has anyone else been in the same situation??

Your title is wrong.

They haven't taken the job offer back. Obviously they need to know the nature of social services involvement, and then you'll be able to start.

Understandably they have a duty of care, they can't employ nursery staff for example who have had their own children removed or something very serious

I completely understand the procedures they have to go through and don’t disagree, but i am worried that it will affect my work role etc.
