Hi, I want to set up my own business. I just dont have a clue how to start. I have potential customers, I know what to do workwise, and I have the qualifications and legal certificates.. I also know what I want to call the company. And then I am clueless as there seem to be so many different options and ways to do it.

What do you need to know specifically?
If you ask questions someone may be able to help

So far, I’ve thought I will need to register the name, let the tax office know, open a bank account.

What type of company do you want to set up? You need to decide that before registering the name.

Do you want to be a director of a limited company, or self employed?

It’s surprisingly easy to set up. But I would recommend an accountant (I have one for my limited company - they’re not far from me but we do everything online/by phone so you can use them wherever you are - pm me if you’d like a recommendation.

Also look at if you want to be vat registered. If you’re only going to turnover a smallish amount it’s not worth it. Over about 75 ish k a year (I can’t remember the exact amount) you need to be. If so google flat rate vat - can make things a lot easier if you’re outgoings are relatively low compared to your earnings.

But as PP said we need a bit more info to help!
