Is this interview outfit okay?

First interview in a long time!

Does this sound okay? It’s for an admin. role in a fairly casual setting:

Smart slim leg black trousers
Wine blouse, long sleeved, lace detail on yoke, boxy, sits on hip.
Grey brogues.

Because my dress sense is understated and smart anyway, the outfit isn’t a million miles away from what I’d wear in the evening, but perhaps with black skinny jeans and a heel. I’m concerned it doesn’t look formal enough, or perhaps too dark.

Appreciate any comments, thanks.

Sounds great...good luck

Kr1stina · 20/10/2018 18:17

That sounds fine, as long as the fabric or the lace on the top isn’t see through or the neckline plunging .

Thank you! No not sheer or plunging. The lace is overlaid on the main fabric. Smile

Was just checking . I interview people very occasionally ( about 2-3 a year ) and almost every time there’s one candidate who is dressed inappropriately for the position .

With women it’s almost always too short skirt, see through blouse or lots of cleavage. I can only assume that some women confuse a smart outfit for an interview with a smart outfit for a wedding / night out .

Sounds lovely. Really nice.

Good luck!
