Masters of Public Policy

Hi, i’m not sure if this is the right place to post, but was wondering if anyone here has done a Masters of Public Policy, and how they found it? I am considering doing one part-time, by distance learning, but don’t know if it’s worth the cost/time. I have a Masters in another area, but I work in Policy. If it helps to provide context, i’m late twenties, employed in a good job full time, and should be able to get some study leave from my employer but would probably have to cover tuition myself...

Or views on Masters of Public Administration (MPA) instead?

I haven't, but I work with lots of people who have.

IMO it's a good way to get into policy work from another area, but if you are already in a policy career it doesn't add much in terms of progression.

Bet it's interesting, though.

I have a Masters in Public Administration (Distinction), and my primary degree was in Public Policy and Management.

I enjoyed it and have found the knowledge useful as my role is writing policy, but tbh the title itself probably hasn't got me far in career progression as I was already in this role before I started. Feel free to pm me.

That’s really helpful. Thank you both. @Beryl will try and work our how to pm you - have never tried that before!
