Hello,
My husband is facing a disciplinary hearing on Friday. The policy states that the investigating officers will attend and indeed this is how it's always worked in the past but today he was told that they won't be there. We were just wondering what this could mean and why this might be the case as it is unusual as far as is workplace is concerned.
There is also new evidnece that has been submitted which came to light after the invetsiation closed but is written proof that one of the witnesses against him lied in his evidence. They are not re-opening the investigation but say this will be considered at the hearing. Do they not need to investigate the new evidence?
He was also told after submitting his list of witnesses that there were too many and he was not allowed to bring them but they could ask for written statements but that this could only be done by submitting the questions to the disciplinary panel who would would contact the witnesses (again this isn't the policy which states he should be allowed to contact wintnesses himself).
