DBS check

I've just completed a DBS form for my new job. A good 6/7 years ago I spent a night in the cells for rowing with a neighbour and was released without charge the next morning. Will this show up on my DBS

No I don't think so as it's only charges and official cautions

Thank you @NewYoiker

If it is an enhanced DBS check it also includes any information the police think is relevant. All DBS checks also show reprimands and final warnings. It seems unlikely this would come up if you did not receive a reprimand or final warning but, without knowing the details, it is impossible to say for certain.

If you think it might come up the safest approach is to tell your potential employer about it before the DBS check comes through. It is unlikely they would refuse to employ you just because of this incident but they may refuse to employ you if they think you have tried to hide something.

Are you 100% sure you didn't receive a caution? Many people do and aren't really aware of what it is or means.

Yeah I'm pretty sure. What happened was a running with an ex boyfriend. The neighbours called the police. I was taken to the cells for the night a statement was taken the next morning and then I was sent home. That was the end of it. I'm pretty sure it was passed off as self defence
