Interview was in July, last week of term. Received and accepted job offer on the phone same day. I realised nothing would happen during the 6 week hols, but this is now week 4 of employment and I’ve still had nothing in writing. Is this normal for Local Authorities?! I am expecting to get paid on Friday as it’s the end of the month! Any experience?! Thanks!

Very typical. I used to teach and be a teaching u ion regional officer. It doesn’t however make it right!
You have a contract of agreeement based on a verbal offer and your verbal acceptance so don’t worry... you have a job for which you will get paid.
You can contact payroll/HR and ask them where your contract is as you are entitled to have a written copy of ‘particulars’ (contract) within 2 months of starting work x

Contract wouldn’t come from LA but from school. Have a word with the school business manager in the office. It may be he or she has it to do or is waiting for head to confirm details. Have you given all your bank details in when you started and your p45.?
