I'm a month into a some contract work. I am getting on well in the role and am experienced and knowledgeable in the field. The short contract is because the role is to be filled permanently eventually. Recruitment and interviews are currently underway. I was interviewed to get the contract role in the first place and am being considered for the role long term.
I'm finding that there's a lot of pressure on me to perform well because a permanent role depends on it. I'm also feeling a little demoralised that interviews are ongoing. I know I have to sit it out and wait for a final decision but it's a bit humiliating and worrying and that makes it harder to be at the top of my game.
Any wise words?
