What exact hours do you work including breaks? How many weeks a year do you work (including paid holidays)?

keerdee73 · 03/09/2018 18:03

Hi I do 27.5 a week and have 7 weeks school holiday of as I'm not allowed the summer hols of

I work five days a week no breaks as I do 5.5 hrs a day

So do you work 45 weeks a year but paid for 52?

Gazelda · 03/09/2018 18:19

It looks to me as though you were previously being paid for 52weeks of the year (ie including the 7 weeks paid annual leave) but are now only being paid for 45weeks (ie you are not receiving paid annual leave).
Has your contract changed? Have you got a copy of your contract which shows 7 weeks paid annual leave?
Have you queried this with payroll or HR?

WeaselsRising · 03/09/2018 18:25

Term time is 39 weeks, plus 7 weeks holiday paid is total 46 weeks a year.

46 x 27.5 = 1,265 hours per year x 8.50 = £10,752.50

1,265 hours/12 = 105.41 hours per month. Is it calculated by the number of weeks/hours worked in an actual month? So a 4 week month would be fewer hours than a 5 week month? Or July being a part month would pay less than September?

Petalflowers · 03/09/2018 18:30

Is your pay being spread over the whole year, although you are not working holidays?

IWantMyHatBack · 03/09/2018 18:34

I'm confused, do you work in the holidays or not, or do you take it off (hard to tell from your posts)

keerdee73 · 04/09/2018 15:27

The only holiday I work is the summer holidays which is six weeks. And then I have of all the other holidays

OP posts:
Sugarhunnyicedtea · 04/09/2018 15:34

Do you get paid holidays?

IWantMyHatBack · 04/09/2018 19:06

I'm sorry, but I'm baffled. Do you mean off??

keerdee73 · 04/09/2018 20:30

Sorry my explanation is not clear. So in general school holidays are 13 weeks I have to work six of them plus the normal days mon to Friday 27.5hrs and also my paid holiday which were all untitled to. So I get 7 weeks not the summer holidays. Sorry my grammar and wording is rubbish

OP posts:
AlexaShutUp · 04/09/2018 20:36

So do you have to take your paid holiday during the 7 weeks that you're off, or do you take it during term time/the summer, on days when you would normally be required to work?

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 04/09/2018 20:37

How much paid holiday do you get?

You work 45 weeks a year. Standard holiday is 20 days plus 8 bank holidays.

keerdee73 · 04/09/2018 21:08

I get them holidays you stated

OP posts:
HandbagsAtDawn123 · 05/09/2018 08:54

So.... I think you mean:

You work 27.5 hours a week.

You work through the 6 weeks summer holidays.

You have all the other school holidays off = 7 weeks

Therefore you work 45 weeks of the year.

Do you work early bank holiday and August bank holiday? The other bank holidays would normally fall in the school holidays you don't work.

keerdee73 · 05/09/2018 15:17

Hi no I don't work any bank holiday

OP posts:
Gazelda · 05/09/2018 18:26

OP, do you have a contract? What does it say?

keerdee73 · 07/09/2018 06:48

Yes I have an old contract which has my old hrs on not an updated one

OP posts:
Gazelda · 07/09/2018 08:03

Well if the contract you have states 118 hours, then I think you need to talk to your line manager/hr/payroll to ask why your hours have dropped from those you are contracted for.

keerdee73 · 09/09/2018 12:39

Here's my contract

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 09/09/2018 12:59

So you work 45 weeks of the year, have 7 weeks unpaid 'holiday' and 28 days holiday (pro rata'd I assume?) to take during the 45 weeks.

Anyway....45 weeks of 27.5 hours = 1237.5 hours worked per year. At 8.50 per hour this is £10,518.75 per year. Of you divide that by 12 your gross monthly pay is £876.56 (which equates to 103 hours approx)

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 09/09/2018 13:00

That picture above isn't a contract, it's a letter confirming changes.

keerdee73 · 09/09/2018 13:08

Thanks all
