I need help figuring something out. I'm a journalist by profession and having had a couple of years out SAHMing I am now trying to start building up a freelance career. I have been offered some work writing press releases for a local company but I have no idea how to charge. Normally for journalism I charge per 1,000 words but this is different obviously and it will also involve placing the press releases and doing the follow up stuff. I imagine a day rate would be the best idea but have no idea what freelance PR people ususally charge. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
