IKIBU but I'm going to vent about my boss. Again.

I know I'm doing a rotten job at the moment but I loathe my boss sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much I don't even want to speak to him.

Though I know he's having a tough time with his elderly mother.

I hate every view he holds - e.g. 'jamaica was such a wonderful country when it still had colonial support.... now they simply don't know how to organise themselves'

and he's basically said if the candidate we have offered my job to turns it down, he's going to blame me because the job trial was such a muddle.

Which is true really, or partially true.

I'm supposed to leave on 31 July but right now I would happily walk out NOW if i didn't have a conception of myself as responsible.

which is why i'm on MN of course.

[sulks childishly]

There.

What kind of work is it you do?

hoxtonchick · 01/06/2007 13:50

he's always been a tosser hasn't he???? the really racist one? well done for resigning. not long at all until the end of july.

rowan1971 · 01/06/2007 13:56

He sounds like a tosser, but you will feel much better about yourself (and even more superior to him) if you hold yourself together and do an absolutely impeccable job from today until the day you leave. Then you'll have every reason to be smug and self-satisfied when you get out of there (instead of having a slightly guilty feeling), and he will be sorry to see you go and wish he hadn't been such an arse.

Speaking from my own experience! I once went through a short phase of sulking and deliberately doing a very bad job at a company I worked for ages ago, and I really think that I was the only person who suffered from it in the long term.

yessss so true.

I got over myself slightly and did quite a good job the rest of the day. i agree re working to your own standards, it's the only way.

[girds loins] [remembers it's the weekend]
