Signed off sick then annual leave

Hello, just looking for some advice. My doctor signed me off of work this week for pregnancy related symptoms and if I'm still not feeling great next week I think he'll do the same. I'm due to take annual leave on the week of the 13th Aug. It's not an abroad holiday it's just to a family chalet in the South of England. Would I still be able to take my annual leave? Would I have to use it as sick leave instead? Are there any procedures? Thanks for your help!

If you would have been fit to return to work were it not for your holiday you should take leave. If you’re still suffering and signed off as not fit for work it would continue as sick leave.

Worth checking your company handbook though. We allow people to use annual leave whilst on sick leave.

@TittyGolightly So, if I get signed off this Monday coming and fit for work on the following Monday, I should be able to still use that week as annual leave? Thanks for your reply!
