looking for work from home

Hi I have recently become a single parent and I am currently home educating my two children, I need to find work that I can do from home, I would really appreciate any help or advice and especially ideas of what I can do. I have a 2.1 honours degree, but haven't a CV or work experience (I have parented for 20 years now). I am a musician and write stories and can touch type.

Have you looked at websites such as People per Hour? You can think of things you can do and offer them as hourly 'gigs'. For example 'I can do your admin tasks on a one-off, or regular basis' £14 per hour.

You home educate a 20 year old?

I can't see how you can home educate and work - surely home educating alone is a full time job?

Or find out how much it costs to print books online (apple ibook, vistaprint etc) and offer to write a unique children's story using the child's name. Sell on places like Etsy. It would need thought about illustrations or use of child's photos though. Pixabay is a good free resource fot stock illustrations, though you'd have to choose the ones which licences allow free commercial reprints.
Are your children old enough to be left alone for a long breaks in the middle if the day? If so, is there a demand for dogwalkers in your area?
I'm sure you're already searching for proof-reading work. Perhaps writing web content for parenting and education blogs too? Based on your experience of home schooling.

I hadn't looked for proof reading yet, thank you for your ideas, and I do already write children's stories, which I am working on getting 'out there'.
I am more looking for short term hourly rate work as a fill in.
In answer to the person who said I am home educating a 20 year old, no I am not! my eldest child is 20, the youngest two are 4 and 7, and I have about 3 to 4 hours a day when they are asleep in which to work, and snippets in between when they are engrossed in play where I can get a bit done.

You day you are a musician. What about offering music lessons from home?

Are you new to MN? Just a heads up that posts pushing MLM schemes aren't terribly welcome on threads. If your scheme requires women to buy product in advance and earn commission by recruiting others, then it's MLM.

I know this is a few months old, but I thought I'd post a couple of legitimate/non scammy work from home jobs I know of seeing as it seems to be coming up a lot on here lately

. Appen/Leapforce/Lionsbridge - social media and web search result related work. Social media involves rating ads. You can earn between £100-£1000 a month depending on what projects you do.

. Crisp - online moderator work for brands.

. GiffGaff are also recruiting for at home web chat agents at the moment. It's salaried too.

Training for all the above is online from day one, so you can work from home from the get go.

If you have no training or experience, PLEASE do not say you are a proofreader. It’s a professional job that requires training. The SfEP offers proofreading courses. You wouldn’t just decide to be a plumber one day then go out and start working - proofreading is the same.
