Can I ask if anyone here types for Take Note? I am applying this evening and just wondered how long it took them to send you work and how soon you were paid?
It seems to be the only company so far that you don't need medical typing experience etc!
I am desperate for some work, ASAP as have come into some money issues. If anyone knows of any other legit good companies please let me know.
Could do with some advice.
Thanks

I worked for them. They're a lovely company, but I wouldn't recommend them. They are who I started with but their rates of pay are way, way below what others are paying. I think they pay something like 46p per minute of dictation. The others I work for start at 60p per minute of audio.

They have tight deadlines. You do shift work. So you sign up for a shift. If you do the 10am to 4pm one, you have to wait until 11am to see if you get allocated any work. I found I was getting a lot of very poor quality audios but still getting paid 46p per minute, whereas someone else could be sitting there breezing through a lovely clear dictation for the same money.

At quiet times, you might not get any work.

You could try companies like TypeOut, Page Six, UK Transcription, EQ Transcription. The tests that they do are a lot less in depth than Take Note. Also, with Page Six, UK Transcription and EQ, you can pick the work you want.

With regards to how long it took for me to hear back, I think it was a couple of weeks, maybe slightly longer. I think they get a lot of applications.

Hi
I'm looking for extra freelance transcribers to help with busy periods of which there seem to be many at the moment. If you're interested please send me a private message and I will give you more info.

Thanks
