Been made redundant. Help with universal credit?

I was made redundant from my job as a manager in retail this month. I've worked since I left school at 16 and never claimed anything in my life (apart from the standard child benefit at 20.70 a week)

Gutted. I loved my job and the place I worked for.
We were trying for a baby as well. We already have a 1.5 year old. I had a confirmed miscarriage this month also. Even more gutted. Sad

The city I live in is now covered by universal credit Confused

My partner works 40 hours a week and earns £25.000. We have a shared ownership Home (half mortgage and half rent)

I'm struggling to get my head around things at the moment with so much going on.
We have an interview tomorrow for universal credit.

Do you have to sign on every week?

Do you have to job search? (I thought, before I found out we were in a universal credit area that I would just get to claim child tax credit. I never intended to claim job seekers allowance as I thought I was still going to be pregnant)

What happens if I were to get pregnant again?

Sorry for being so clueless. I would have planned ahead long in advance if I knew about everything that's happened sooner Sad
