I have a question and it's a plan in advance one!

When I take mat leave from my current role (been there 7 plus years), it will be Jan to Jan.
I want to start uni in September (full time) of that year. Can I do that?

I won't be returning back to the job but I don't intend to quit until the Jan due to holidays and stuff I will lose . I love the job but it is not child friednly and nit will be impossible to do.

I want apply for uni asap but don't want to get into trouble !

Thanks:)

You may be liable to repay any non-statutory element of mat leave if you don't return to work, so check your mat leave policy carefully.

You will still count as being employed (I would have thought) when you start University - will that affect any funding or fees?

Do you get statutory maternity or enhanced? I'm in the boat and you can still be a student when receiving stat maternity pay however it might be against your employment contract so best to check that

I'm not sure what type of mat pay it is?

I can always phone hr and put it to them the course will work around work when intend to return

I get 6 weeks at 90 percent and then 39 weeks at 140ish a week then 3 months unpaid. So standard really.

I can resign once I go to uni if I get my holidays paid in full before I go I will get 9/10 months anyhow so won't lose a ton.

Sad really I love my job but it just can't work with a baby too
