Help, I haven't been contacted?

It says on the website that anyone with a long term illness/disability would be selected for interview automatically, providing they meet the basic criteria.

www.nhsjobs.com/job/-v1120801?_ts=5588

I definitely do, I'm a Medical Secretary at a big London Hospital, more responsibility than I would have at new role, etc.

But I haven't been contacted?

Anyone know why this would be?

The closing date is today at 23:59 but in my experience, NHS jobs usually say you've been asked to attend an interview well before the end date of when you can apply.

I feel so deflated. The hours are perfect. The job description suits me very well. The location is perfect.

Argh Sad

just wait and see, the closing date hasn't passed yet. Leave it until friday and if you still haven't heard then ask for the status of your application.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 24/06/2018 16:50

It says it closes after 50applications. Maybe that’s been exceeded.

This. Most likely someone will be going through the applications next week.

DramaAlpaca · 24/06/2018 16:54

Most places don't start shortlisting until after the closing date, so don't worry yet.

Bombardier25966 · 24/06/2018 16:59

You're overreacting. They're not going to shortlist until they reach a certain number of applications as they can't establish who the top candidates will be until they have a good size sample.

Hopefully you included a statement explaining how you meet the relevant criteria?

Louise322 · 24/06/2018 21:22

Thanks all, I did include a statement explaining why I meet the criteria, why I'd love to work in that setting, what I could bring to the role that sets me apart, etc etc

Exciting, feel like I have hope now after reading these replies.

I checked today and it says 'vacancy closed to new applications' even though I applied on the 8th June.

Does that mean my application would've been disregarded?

OP posts:

It means it's closed now. Not when you applied.

Louise322 · 25/06/2018 19:49

Patricia my common sense did tell that to me Blush But then I did wonder why it would say that on my application status since it isn't relevant to me

It's not all about you. The statuses are the same for everyone until you're past the sift stage.
