Hi
Im finally dropping to 4 days-im exhausted working full time with a 1.5 hour commute each way 3 x a week (i currently work 3l2 days from home which is a huge help but when i drop to 4 days I can only do 1 day working frm home so im still in office 3 days a week :-/ )
Anyway, which day would u choose off? Im thinking weds? Or maybe thurs? Im not allowed mon or fri x

I would have Wednesday off. I'm currently on Maternity leave and hope to drop to a four day week on my return. I'm toying with Wed or Fri as my day off.
Where I live Wednesday is a half day for local businesses so would be restricting if I needed to get stuff done as bank/shops/post office all close at lunch time. Might be worth having a think about what you to do (if anything) on your day off Smile

Tueday so then you benefit from extra long weekends when it is a bank holiday Monday.

Wednesday used to work for me. You’re only working two days then get a break. Also quieter midweek for visiting supermarkets, banks, post office, hairdresser, dentist etc.

I’ve been 5 days for years now and I miss my days off. I used to have Monday and Friday off - the dream! Why did I give that up?!!!!

Wednesday! That's what I'll be doing too when I return from maternity leave. That way you never do more than 2 days in a row Smile

Tuesday sounds good for the bank holidays though

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 20/06/2018 13:29

I'd pick Tuesday so it runs nicely with bank holiday Mondays but I'm Irish and I think we have a few bhs more than the UK. Although they're not all on Mondays eg Jan 1st, march 17th, dec 26th

Wednesday it's half way through the week

Merrz · 20/06/2018 13:45

I'd say have Tuesday as your working from home day and Wednesday off, gives you a nice break in the middle of the week and save's the Monday commute being such a thought when you know you won't have to do it for the next 2 days.

Who provides your childcare? Better check with them before making up your mind or they may not be able to accommodate you.

KirstenRaymonde · 20/06/2018 13:56

I’d take the Wednesday off and work Friday from home.

Lovemedo345 · 20/06/2018 14:00

I work 3 days a week and for random childcare reasons have to work Mondays and Fridays. It's annoying but not as bad as I thought. I have Wednesday's and Thursdays off and it's a lovely break from work! I wld pick Wednesday in yr position x

Wednesday

Gizlotsmum · 20/06/2018 15:00

I have Wed off. I love it. I can do half a weeks washing, shopping etc without having a weeks worth. It breaks the week up beautifully too
