Effing gift card

In a team of all men - my line manager told me the pay award he would be putting me forward for ('exceeds' along with 2 of the men) They get the rise, I get 'achieves' and a £50 gift card thanking me for all the hard work on project x. An effing gift card - am I right to be furious about not receiving proper recognition and recompense in my salary. Proper pay that would count toward my pension etc. all 3 of us have worked on different projects, mine is the highest value and up and running efficiently hitch free, theirs are mismanaged disasters.

Yes! I would be fuming. Are you going to speak to your manager about it? You could consider a grievance, it sounds like sex discrimination to me!

I'm sure that's illegal.

Are you in a union? Take advise. Potential grievance on grounds of sex discrimination may be the way to go. Have you spoken to your manager and asked why your award was different to what you'd been led to believe it would be? That's your first step. I'd be bloody livid.
