being made redundant and pension contribution questio

I'm due to receive my redundancy payout in the next week and I'm wondering do I need to contact my pension provider to ensure they don't take my additional contribution of 5% from this amount?

My last day was the 31st of May and I had this on my list to call but have just realised tonight I still haven't done this. I don't want to contribute any further to this pension and 5% of my redundancy amount will be significant (to me!). I did assume as I'm no longer employed by my old company they wouldn't take anything.

It would be whoever does the payroll, rather than the pension provider who would deal with that. Can you speak to payroll/HR in your old company?

I spoke with Comp & Ben before I left who told me to speak to my pension provider.

Think I'll contact my (old) work and ask them again.

Thanks for replying.
