Been offered a new job but holiday is lower than previous one. Looking at getting maxium amount . I can do my own shift so looking at putting one forward that includes 2 Mondays off in 4 weeks .. My holiday is 5.6 so if one of the bank Holliday fell on that Monday i am off do I still get the holiday for another day or do I lose it Thanks

Usually in those situations HR uses a formula to work out your entitlement and it can get complicated. The 5.6 weeks is the statutory minimum, which means 28 days for full time employees, or 14 days for employees who only work 2.5 days a week for example.

You'll need to ask your employer to be sure, but I would think they would give you a new entitlement based on having 26 Mondays off a year. They'll probably tell you exactly how many holiday days you have left to book when you want after the bank holidays are accounted for. Your entitlement will be based on your number of working days a year.

It's so hard all this ..Thanks for replying ..it seems so complicated as when I worked month Friday if bank Holliday Xmas day was a Sat we got the Monday off so I was hoping it would work like that
