Re-applying for my job, is this redundancy?

Due to restructuring, I have been asked to re-apply for my own job. Job title, salary, hours etc are exactly the same, but a small note added to say if need be, I may be required to work at another location. Another colleague with the same job title but in the aforementioned location has also been offered the opportunity to apply. (The other location no longer needs the current position but a lower paid, less hours employee). So my question is, is my current position redundant? If so, will my contract have to start all over again? I work for a LA incidentally.

Your employer should have made clear to you what happens if you don’t get the job. If you get it, your employment would just carry on. It doesn’t start again, you’d just transfer to the adjusted role.

If you are not successful and there are no suitable alternatives or possibilities for redeployment you would be made redundant.

That's great, thank you flowery. I will speak to my employers tomorrow and confirm the above. Much appreciated.
