I have stuffed up - I am such a prat

I advertised a p/t job and only got 3 replys

1 wasn't right for the job
1 smoked (I work with children so that's a no-no)
the third was a teacher who want 4 months work as she had missed the cut off date for getting work this term

I took on the teacher (she is due to start later this week) even tho' I didn't really want a temporary person - because I was desparate

Someone rang today and she is lovely - exactly what I want (teacher is really over qualified) wants permanent work & I wish I hadn't given the job to the other lady

I feel such a prat for jumping instead of waiting to get the "right" person

Ohhh no!!! Can you see if she will come back to you in a couple of months? Tell the teacher you only have enough work until then?

But doubt this lady will still be unemployed then

Maybe you could contact her then just to check? Offer her more money/ hours?

OK teacher emailed - she got a F/T teaching job

So I am taking ion the other lady permanently
