Hi,

Just wondered if anyone uses wix for their ecommerce website, and if its any good?

Keen to hear some feedback

Found Wix's website builder easier to use, and would have gone with them hands-down if I just wanted a website. However, I would recommend Shopify for e-commerce. For our cash flow the transaction fees worked out much cheaper, and the platform seems much better if your business ends up being "bigger". I know a lot of fairly big name retailers use Shopify.

NO.

I’m a web developer, seriously using any ‘drag and drop’ web builder is false economy. You end up with a site that’s badly optimised for search engines and pretty much undiscoverable unless you have an SEO wizz on board?

Site builders like Wix make it very very hard for you to upgrade in the future without doing a completely new build if you want to change your platform (which you will at some stage)

I recommend you build your site on Wordpress and get a freelancer to do it for you, usually fairly cheap if you get a young person just starting out.

Eco mercer is particularly tricky to get right on a drag and drop tool so it’s important to get the right structure in from the start.
