How do you receive money? PayPal or account details?

I tuna fitness class and I currently give out my sortcode and account number to receive payments, I was wondering if it might be better to use PayPal or another method?

Any suggestions welcome and price involved would be great too. I am just starting out so I really want to keep costs as low as possible Smile

I do both. I like Paypal because a lot of people have it as an App so it's convenient. I got a business account with them because I exceeded the allowable amount of income on there. But it didn't cost anything to do that.

For international I use PayPal but if it’s not I give my bank account details so that they don’t have to pay any fees

I accept bank transfers, can be a little tricky trying to monitor who’s paid and who hasn’t though.

Aja's - when you say you exceeded the allowable amount did you start off by using your personal PayPal account? I was unsure if I could do this to begin with or if because it is for work purposes that I would have to start with a business account.

I won't be getting a very large amount in each month, do you know how much is allowed before you have to switch to business?

Colon- that's what I'm finding it's a little tricky tracking payment where as if it was through PayPal I'm sure it would email you right away.

Comfort - so do the clients have to pay fees to PayPal? When I looked it up I was under the impression they didn't but we did and it was 3.4% of the money received

You need a business PayPal account, otherwise you are putting yourself and your customers at risk of fraud. With PayPal you can also get a card machine so you can take payments in person as well as online. Bank transfer is obviously fee free so that would be my preferred method of payment.

I did use my personal account yes...then I was contacted by Paypal who had noticed the amounts and the fact that they were coming from all over the world and asked me to switch.

I wasn't earning tonnes but it was regular money.
